ABOUT Kate Westaway
Kate Westaway is an internationally published photographer and self taught painter whose creative career spans nearly 30 years across underwater photography, natural history and adventure television. A neurodivergent artist with a First Class degree in Photographic Communication from Falmouth College of Art (2000), Kate has spent much of her professional life exploring the natural world in some of the most challenging environments on Earth.
Her photography has been published internationally, including in TIME Magazine, and exhibited widely. She was shortlisted for the 2009 Terry O’Neill Award and produced Wildlife Monographs: Humpback Whales, a book documenting her underwater encounters with a humpback whale mother and calf in the Atlantic Ocean.
Alongside her photography career Kate spent 20 years working in factual and natural history television production. Her credits include Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls and River Monsters with Jeremy Wade, taking her into remote, demanding environments and deepening her connection with nature.
